If you play on custom maps i'd like some recommendations. Navezgane is a good starter map but as you said, it can feel a bit empty. It's also pre-generated so it will be exactly the same every time. Since it's pregenerated, there's no way to modify it to make it more interesting. Thankfully, there are a lot of pregenerated maps / seeds you can.
